80+ questions to go through while you are dating
When in reality, the truth is finally hitting them in the face. Some marriages fail because of issues that were existing for months or years, but they were never noticed or simply overlooked. So use discernment, pray, seek godly advice, and ask these questions at the minimum! I mean are you following and obeying Jesus? Ask them about their faith!! I say this because I will surely research their church!
Some churches are simply social clubs sorry, but not sorry. You need to know if they preach and teach truth. Usually, ladies follow their husband to his church. If sitting in church makes you a Christian, sitting in a garage makes me a car. Some people are early birds and some are night owls, but we all have to do our part. If someone prioritizes God in their lives, you can rest assured they try to keep everything else centered around Him.
Fasting does not make you a Christian, but every Christian should fast. It helps us put our flesh under subjection. Are they willing to give up food and worldly entertainment every once in awhile to get closer to God? Be willing to unplug from this world to plug into God.
Instead of trying to change them or manipulate them into wanting what you desire, find someone who has the same desire. They have to work on that while seeking God instead of using you as their out. You have to ask this nowadays!! You should never fight for their attention. You need to know if it was only because of your looks. Did he like your character or just your curves?
Did she like your personality and passion or just your money? See if they are driven by carnal things. This is only my opinion, but all wise people are readers. Your walk with God is about more than what happens inside of church. Are they pursuing any degrees or entrepreneurial adventures? Are they working or do they quit every 60 days when someone upsets them?
I agree because we all have to be consistently going forward in some way or we will eventually lose our way. People can easily get triggered by issues they have experienced growing up. Cycles do repeat! However, you need to know this so you can encourage them not just spiritually, but emotionally and mentally. We all have bad habits. Someone aiming to better themselves is someone you should want to grow with.
When you get married, their debt is now your debt. God wants us to steward the money that we have properly. Not only that, but they may not have anyone to correct them when they do sin.
Accountability pushes us to grow. Porn rewires our brain and how we view people and sex. Sex should be seen as a gift in marriage, not something you simply do for your pleasure or boredom.
They believe in Psalms and Romans alone. How do I know? Some people believe Hell only has one person there- the devil. Apparently, there is a new requirement for Heaven — dying. They think everyone is in Heaven, but the Bible says otherwise and God expects us to follow His Word. I can tell a lot about a person who claims to love God by their favorite speakers.
We all have a purpose and we have to find that out. They may take you on the best dates ever, but are they saving up for school, a home or simply for emergencies? The fast life will catch up to you. It may not have been their fault or it may have been and they may still blame the other party. If you were sexually active in the past, would you get tested prior to marriage?
You need to protect yourself. Find out! I know this happens in many relationships. You need to make your boundaries known early. I believe there are tons of other questions we can ask, but I also wanted to be mindful that some things are inappropriate depending on the crowd. However, I believe the majority of these help you learn more about someone and prepare you to make a more knowledgeable decision when choosing a partner.
If you know of any other questions to ask, comment below. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences. I absolutely love Jesus, and I am unashamed to say that. I'm just a young man with big dreams, but my main purpose in life is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How do they respond to these wounds? Or do they rely on God to help facilitate forgiveness with that family member? Loved what you wrote about bullying and being bullied. The mentalities that carry on in adulthood. We call this recreational dating. Dating should be for the purpose of marriage. Do you think there should be boundaries with family members after marriage, and if so, what boundaries??
This was not ok with me. The examples could go on… but basically leave your father and mother and cleave to your spouse is a legitimate biblical concept that should be talked about before marriage!
Reblogged this on fulfillyourpurpose and commented: Good read. This messed me up! In a good way! You not only mentioned questions which I have asked myself, but also questions which have never crossed my mind! Thank you so much! These questions are also great to ask yourself for personal development. Great Post with excellent questions, for indeed the truth will obviously set you free. Would also like to agree to study the Bible together on a regular basis and build on that spiritual part of the relationship, plus sharing the goodness of the Lord and the things that He is doing in their own personal life.
Are they in any way ashamed of Jesus or do they witness for Him not only by how they live but verbally as well as directed by the Holy Spirit. Also to be in wholehearted agreement to not ever be alone in a compromising situation, and make a pact on that, holding each other accountable.
Then, come up with great, clean ways of spending time together in public places with family, with friends or even places like a nursing home or a dog shelter or other places where they can volunteer, still be together, and make a difference.
Even spend some time apart to pray about the relationship and fast about the relationship and really put it before the Lord since it is and can be the utmost important relationship of your life. Pray that they can learn to love themselves in the Lord properly before they enter into a relationship with you or anyone else. Some counseling can probably help with that as well.
Finally, you cannot give that in a relationship that you do not already possess. Thus, when you come to the banqueting table of marriage you want to come bearing gifts of who you are in Christ, and that is one who knows they are fully loved, fully accepted, and fully ready to lay down their life to serve the other person all the days of their life.
